Kyle
Kyle Kikuta Co-Head Coach

Kyle began swimming at the age of 7 for the Pinehurst Piranhas. He swam club for San Jose Aquatics and Valley Splash. In high school, Kyle swam for 4 years on the varsity team at Valley Christian, and then 2 years at West Valley College. The last 15 years, Kyle has coached high school, club, and cabana teams. He is currently the Head Coach of the Almaden Riptides and Co-Head Coach of the Shadow Brook Sharks cabana team. At Bellarmine, he was part of the 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th, and 31st CCS Championships. He also coached the Sharks to the League Championship in 2011, 2019 and 2024 along with multiple Most Improved Times Cabana League titles since 2017.

Kyle has also coached many Pacific Swimming All Star Meets: Pacific Coast All Star Meet ('10 Cerritos, '11 Gresham, '12 British Columbia, '13 Santa Rosa, '14 Olympia, '15 Commerce, '16 Portland, '17 Pacifica), North American Challenge Cup ('09 La Mirada, '10 Santa Clara, '11 Puerto Vallarta, '12 Edmonton, '13 Federal Way, '14 Vera Cruz, '15 San Diego, '16 Houston), and the Zone All Star Development Meet.

Kyle has held multiple positions since serving on Pacific Swimming's Board beginning in 2017.

Kelly Rockwell Co-Head Coach

Kelly has been passionate about swimming for over 15 years. Her journey began at the age of 5 swimming as a Shark at Shadow Brook! She went on to swim competitively with Valley Splash and Almaden Riptide, training under Coach Kyle and mainly focusing on the 500 freestyle and backstroke. Kelly graduated from Sonoma State University in 2019, with a Bachelors degree in marketing.

This marks her fourth year coaching with the Sharks. Being able to help swimmers improve their technique, build confidence, and reach their goals at the same pool she grew up swimming in has been extremely rewarding. Kelly is excited to be back on deck, sharing her experience and passion for the sport!

Freddie Cumming Assistant Coach

Freddie first started swimming for the Shadow Brook Sharks in 2013 and swam for the Team for 11 years. As a proud Shark, he graduated last summer where he holds the 15-18 50 free record as well as being the current league record holder in 50 Breast & 50 Fly!

Freddie swam for Almaden Riptide for 5 years under Coaches Kyle & Nik Kikuta. In High School, he swam all 4 years on the varsity team at Valley Christian where he still holds the school’s 100 Breast record. Freddie is currently a D1 athlete for the University of the Pacific Men’s Swim & Dive team, studying Finance.

He is very excited to give back to the team where his passion for swimming first started.

Grace McAnear Assistant Coach

Grace has been a part of the Shadow Brook Sharks since she was 8 years old. Sharks is where her love for swim first began and at age 11, she joined Almaden Riptide. She swam all four years in high school for Valley Christian where she changed her focus from breaststroke to the 200 and 500 freestyle.

Now, Grace is a D2 distance swimmer at Westmont College, where she holds the school record in the 1000 freestyle. She’s also studying Elementary Education because she loves working with kids.

This is her second season coaching for the Sharks, and she couldn’t be more excited to be back on deck. Shadow Brook has always felt like home and she’s looking forward to another great season!

Amanda Rockwell Assistant Coach

Coah Amanda (aka Miss Amanda) began swimming on Shadow Brook at the age of 7, developing a lifelong passion for the sport favoring breaststroke and IM. She earned her Bachelors degree in Business Analytics and an MBA from San Jose State University and now works as a budget analyst at NASA.

With 11 years of coaching experience, Amanda has cherished every aspect of guiding swimmers, from participating in Zone 1 South All-Stars to celebrating team victories at Champs in 2019 and 2024. She is thrilled to return for another season with the Sharks.
