Our 2020 Season
Dearest Sharks Families and Coaches,
Our Cabana League has been in existence for over 50 years. We have built a strong community based on traditions, fun and competition. The relationships and lasting memories we have together is the highlight of our summers and we were sincerely holding onto hope that we would somehow salvage a short season and make the best of it. Given the current environment, and under the current mandates of CDC, USA Swimming, Pacific Swimming and Santa Clara County, we have come to the conclusion that we will not have a season for the 2020 Cabana year. Thus, Champs has been canceled as well as all dual meets.
That being said, as restrictions are lifted, we will continue to watch and pay close attention to mandates that may allow us to celebrate our season in a different capacity. Whether that is age group activities, parades or breakfasts, we hope to figure out a way, as mandates allow, to continue to foster community spirit. In that spirit, please know that our graduating 2020 class seniors will be allowed to compete next year in 2021’s cabana season.
Our commitment to the health and safety of our swimmers, coaches and all swim team families is of the utmost importance and we appreciate your understanding with this difficult League decision.
We will be in contact this summer with hopeful new events and social opportunities to celebrate you all and keep our Sharks spirit strong. We want to especially recognize our 2020 graduating seniors: Joseph Chiu, Michael Crotty, Michael Saunichev, Kathy Swartz and Josh Vaillancourt. More information about these opportunities will follow.
Those families that have submitted their registration and volunteer checks, please let us know by 12 noon on Friday, May 7, if you’d like your checks mailed back to you otherwise, they will be shredded.
Stay healthy, stay strong & Sharks for life.
Go Sharks!
