Sharks News & Notes - Week of May 23

Hello Sharks Families and Friends,

Please take the time to review all of the below. And please take special note of how to reclaim items left behind at the pool.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Willey Family for hosting the Adult-Only Social on May 21. It was a great evening and a wonderful way to kick-off the new season!

Great Time Trials Meet on May 21

Thank you to all who attended and volunteered for our Time Trials meet this past weekend. It was so nice to see the pool back in action and a great way for our new families (& veterans too) to see and experience the expectations of how our dual meets are run.

For those with any remaining questions or concerns about our dual meets or roles and responsibilities when volunteering, please see Katie or Staci on deck or email us at [email protected].

Swimmer's Results from Time Trials

Results for your swimmer's have been posted to SwimTopia. To access their results, please follow the instructions below:

Log into your account at Shadow Brook Sharks Swim Team website

Please click on "My Account" from the drop-down menu under "Welcome" in THE top right corner

Click on your swimmer's name

There, you will find all of their events and times ever swum with Shadow Brook Sharks

* Complete results will also be posted at the pool *

Swimmer's Ribbons

If your simmer does not want to receive Participation or Personal Best Ribbon(s) (Shark Kash will still be awarded, just without the ribbon), please provide the requested information at: Ribbon Recognition Withdraw Form. Please note, Personal Best Ribbons and Shark Kash will be awarded following our Dual Meet on June 4 and will be based on your times from our Dual Meet on May 28, not Time Trials.

Equipment

All swimmers are now required to bring their own long floating fins to their practices. Additionally, any fins, goggles and caps left on deck will be collected by the coaches at the end of practices. As the coaches have been telling the swimmers since our practices began on April 19 and as noted in our Team Handbook, to reclaim your swimmer's fins, goggles or caps, a fee of $1.00 per item will be requested (for example, a pair of fins = $2.00). This past week, the coaches have collected numerous pairs of fins and goggles. It is your swimmer's responsibility to look after their items - not the coaches. Please have your swimmers clean up after themselves by collecting their gear, throwing out their trash & stacking chairs.

Buddies

Buddy assignments are now posted at the pool. The Buddy Program offers your swimmer(s) the chance to be a Big or Little (and sometimes both) Buddy, and is intended to foster team spirit and connection among our swimmers. Being a Buddy involves making an effort to support and encourage each other by wishing your Buddy good luck before the meets as well as cheering them on during their races. We’d like to remind you that the intention of the Buddy Program is to encourage, mentor, guide and support our swimmers. Weekly gifts are not necessary or required. Please contact our Sharks Coaches with any questions or concerns.

Swim Cap Orders

For those who placed a silicone swim cap order, your swim caps are now available for pick-up. We have a limited amount of non-personalized silicone Sharks swim caps that are available for sale for $15/each (cash only). Please see Katie or Staci on deck to purchase.
