Sharks News and Notes - Week of May 8
Hello Sharks Families,
We are pleased to announce that our 2023 roster is set and we are happy to see so many Sharks attending practice regularly! Please refer to our 2023 Sharks Practice Schedule for your swimmer's practice times and all requested 2023 Practice Equipment is now due. Need a gear bag to place your swimmer's items in? Please contact Katie Ciciarelli or Valerie Waagen to purchase a customized Sharks gear bag for $20 (cash only).
Apparel orders that were placed by April 30 will be delivered to the pool soon! Silicone swim caps and Sharks apparel items are still available for sale at: 2023 Sharks Apparel (Passcode is SBS).
Volunteer Deposit Checks are now due!
Swimmers will be asked to leave the pool deck if your $300 Volunteer Deposit check has not been received.
Volunteers Shifts are open until TODAY! (May 8)
We still have multiple shifts open for our two home meets! (May 27 and June 17)
Register for your volunteer shifts today! Each family is required to sign-up for at least 1 volunteer shift at time trials and at least 1 volunteer shift at each of our dual meets in which you have a swimmer participating.

Click SIGN UP FOR JOBS. All adults registered will be listed.
Choose the jobs you want to volunteer for and click SAVE ASSIGNMENTS at the bottom of the page.
Our Sharks Volunteer Job Descriptions provide detailed descriptions of every volunteer shift. Please note, volunteer shifts for Champs will be provided at a later date.
Fun Fridays!
Fun Fridays are a great way for our swimmers to celebrate their week of workouts and fun in the water. Additionally, it is a wonderful opportunity for parents to mingle and get to know their fellow Sharks parents better. We thank the Nam & Yoo Families Families for hosting our May 5 Fun Friday. There were lots of parents on deck & Sharks in the water! We hope to see you on deck on Friday, May 12! Please contact Katie Ciciarelli or Valerie Waagen for more information.
Buddies!
Buddy Sign-ups are open until Wednesday, June 10. Register your swimmer at: Buddy sign up. Complete information can be found in the attached flyer.
Movie Night (starts at dusk -7.45/8pm) & Meet your Buddy event (6.45pm) - May 13
All Sharks swimmers and their families (*) are invited to enjoy watching the movie Ratatouille together at Shadow Brook pool on Saturday May 13. Please note this is a non-swimming event, the pool will be closed for use. The movie will begin at dusk (around 8pm) but, it is recommended to set up prior to this on the lawn. There will be a Meet Your Buddy fun activity starting at 6.45pm on the same evening, we would love to see as many swimmers as possible attend this. Pizza, soda/ water and treats will be available for purchase prior to the movie starting and during. Low to the ground lawn chairs and blankets/ sleeping bags are recommended to use while watching the movie.
* 12 and under swimmers must be accompanied by an adult.
For planning purposes, please RSVP by 6pm on Thursday, May 11 and consider volunteering to help make this a fun event for all. If you wish to be a buddy please sign up below, it really helps build our Sharks team and is super fun for the kids!
May 20 Adult-Only Sharks Parent Social
We thought it would be fun for our Sharks parents and coaches to welcome the 2023 season and mingle over drinks & tacos! It will be a great opportunity to get to know the new families and reunite with old friends.Please note this will be an outdoor event at the Shadow Brook pool and we will be holding a fun group fundraising activity with a special prize awarded to the winner. If you wish to increase your chances of winning more "tickets" may be purchased on the night - additional details will follow. Please RSVP promptly by May 11.

Time: 6:30pm
Cost: $20 per person (includes tacos/ water/ agua fresca/ group fundraiser "ticket") Payable by Venmo (jayne willey @jayne-willey) and please note the names of parties attending and "taco night". Please note the spelling with 2 l's when using Venmo or your payment may not get to the correct person. If you don't have access to Venmo please contact Jayne directly on 669 245 0238 to arrange payment - text is best.

What to bring: Yourselves and a bottle/ beverage to share - in addition to tacos water and agua fresca will be provided

Back by popular demand you will have the chance to win a prime parking spot at all FIVE Dual Meets! $20/ticket. A parking space will be reserved for your family close to the entrance of the host pool at the Dual Meets - mornings get extremely busy on the day of a meet and parking can be difficult to find. Simply add your name in the google sheet attached beside the raffle ticket number or tickets you wish to purchase. Please make payment via Venmo @jayne-willey (again note spelling with 2 l's) and note your name or purchase tickets in person at photo day (May 18), Movie Night (May 13) and for a limited time at Time Trials (May 20) with cash or via Venmo. Enter as many times as you’d like at 2023 Sharks Raffle! The Winner will be announced at Time Trials, Saturday May 20!
