May 4 Fun at the Pool - RSVP Today!

Dear Sharks families,

WELCOME to the 2024 season! SHARKS and their families are invited on Saturday, May 4, at 5:00 pm for a scavenger hunt (swimmers only) around the Shadow Brook neighborhood. While the kids are busy with this fun activity parents are welcome to join other Sharks families for Happy Hour drinks at the pool. Following this, we will be serving pizza and ice cream sundaes for all (indicate on the RSVP how many family members will be eating to aid planning). Please bring small bills or pay by Venmo on the night!

RSVP by Tuesday, April 30, at 8:00 pm at MAY 4 EVENT. Please also indicate if your swimmer would like to be part of the BUDDY program as we will match up buddies and place them in teams together for the scavenger hunt. BUDDY assignments will be posted at the event - if you would like to be a BUDDY but can’t make the evening please mark your interest on the “BUDDY LIST” in the link or at the pool over the next few weeks. Please find further information below regarding the BUDDY program - remember swimmers need to attend THREE dual meets to take part in the program. Buddy sign up will be available until Thursday, May 2, at 8:00 pm.

As ever these events are only possible with the help of our wonderful parent volunteers - please consider signing up to help - MAY 4 EVENT. Please note social volunteer shifts do not count towards help needed during dual meets & Champs.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] or text 669 245 0238.

GO SHARKS!

Jayne Willey, Sharks Social Coordinator

MAY 4 - Further Details:

The scavenger hunt is open to ALL swimmers independent of whether they are taking part in the BUDDY program - we just want our SHARKS TO HAVE SOME FUN OUT OF THE WATER! Siblings are welcome to attend the event but not the scavenger hunt - they can stay and play on the grass at the pool. We will have some activities for the younger siblings while the hunt is going on but we need parent volunteers to oversee this - parents of younger kids please sign up to help - MAY 4 EVENT.

Canned beer, wine, alcoholic seltzers and cans of izzy (soft drink) will be available for purchase ($2 alcoholic drinks/ $1 non-alcoholic) on the night but please BYO if you desire.

BUDDY PROGRAM - Further Details:

The idea of a buddy system is to have fun!! encourage teammates before and during their swim and congratulate them on their performance. In the past buddies have brought trinkets and snacks along to meets to show support for their fellow sharks. These are always appreciated however not essential and are optional- a friendly word of encouragement is just as important.
