Sharks News & Notes - Week of May 13
Hello Sharks Families and Friends,
We hope all of our Sharks' moms had a wonderful weekend celebrating Mother's Day!
Please take the time to review all of the below. And please take special note of how to reclaim items left behind at the pool.
Fun Fridays!
A special thank you to the Mou, Hanchett, Heid & Hammon Families for hosting our Fun Fridays on May 3 & 10! It’s always great to see our Sharks parents mingle and our swimmers enjoying a nice treat after a hard week in the water.
Great Time Trials Meet on May 11
Congratulations to the Chhibber Family for winning The Spot in the Lot! And thank you to Padma Heid for organizing this great fundraiser!
Thank you to all who attended and volunteered for our Time Trials meet this past weekend. It was so nice to see the pool back in action and a great way for our new families (& veterans too) to see and experience the expectations of how our dual meets are run.
For those with any remaining questions or concerns about our dual meets or roles and responsibilities when volunteering, please see Valerie or Katie on deck or email us at [email protected]
Attendance for Dual Meets & Champs
You must mark your attendance for every meet in SwimTopia
Attendance for our Home Dual Meet against Crossgates must be completed by today, May 14, at 5:00 PM at: https://shadowbrooksharks.
When signed into your account, please click the green “Meet Entry” button
Select from the drop down box if your swimmer(s) will or will not be attending
If you already know your schedule for the summer, please feel free to mark your attendance for every Dual Meet and Champs
Swimmer's Ribbons
If your simmer does not want to receive Participation or Personal Best Ribbon(s) (Shark Kash will still be awarded, just without the ribbon), please provide the requested information at: Ribbon Recognition Withdraw Form. Please note, Personal Best Ribbons and Shark Kash will be awarded following our Dual Meet on May 25 and will be based on your swimmer’s times from our Dual Meet on May 18, not Time Trials.
Equipment
All swimmers are now required to bring their own long floating fins to their practices. Additionally, any fins, goggles and caps left on deck will be collected by the coaches at the end of practices. As the coaches have been telling the swimmers since our practices began and as noted in our Team Handbook, to reclaim your swimmer's fins, goggles or caps, a fee of $1.00 per item will be requested (for example, a pair of fins = $2.00). This past week, the coaches have collected numerous pairs of fins and goggles. It is your swimmer's responsibility to look after their items - not the coaches. Please have your swimmers clean up after themselves by collecting their gear and personal items.
Silicone Swim Caps, Vintage Items & Stickers
We have a limited amount of non-personalized silicone Sharks swim caps that are available for sale for $15/each (cash only). And we have some vintage items available for sale as well (cash only). Some as low as $5.00! Please see Katie or Valerie on deck to purchase.
RSVP today for SJ Giants Baseball Game on June 2 at BASEBALL RSVP. Join your fellow Sharks for an afternoon baseball! If you have any questions please contact at [email protected] or her cell 669 245 0238. Complete details of this great, family fun activity can be found in Jayne's email dated May 10.
Calendar
Please be sure to check our Calendar for upcoming events and activities. We hope to see you at the Memorial Day BBQ with our BBQ and Potluck beginning at 5:00 PM on Monday, May 27, and activities at the pool beginning at 11:30 AM.
Go Sharks!
